Ahead of the 2015 general election, the giant in the Nigerian printing industry, Konica Minolta (KM), in partnership with Skysat Technologies Limited, yesterday launched the KIP C7 800 and A0 digital printing machine for production of high quality election campaign posters and geological maps.
Speaking during the 3rd edition of Konica Minolta Digital Print Solution Exhibition tagged: "Optimizing digital print solution with latest technology," in Abuja, the Managing Director, Skysat Technologies Limited, Izzat Debs, stated that the exhibition was organised to promote KM digital print solutions in Nigeria.
In his words: “Since the introduction of KM digital print solution to Nigeria about three years ago, we have through this platform grown our market share in digital print solutions market of the Nigerian printing and today we are proud to say that we are now the market leaders in the digital print production sector."
The Managing Director noted that the firm has with the support of KM, tremendously improved the quality of print products from the stable of most commercial printers in the Nigeria printing industry.
According to him, this has resulted in the reduction or printing jobs taken overseas, increased the establishment of several digital print shops all over the country, contributed to the creation of employment for young people.
He added that as an organisation, the company has within the last one year trained dozens of Nigerian technicians at home and abroad  who are now responsible for the maintenance of the machines all over Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the KM Senior Area Manager, Mark Oldfield, explained that the company was launching the first time in Africa one of the five new devices in a new production printing series.
The Minister of Federal Capita Territory, Senator Bala Mohammed, was represented at event by the Managing Director, Abuja Technology Free Zone, Hauwa Nabin.
He said the introduction of KM digital prints solutions in Nigerian has contributed immensely to the socio-economic development of Nigeria  be way of improving office documentation process, print production of various commercial print products like books, annual reports, posters, electioneering campaign posters and security documents which has gone a long way to reduce capital flight and promote the establishment of cottage printing shops all over Nigeria thereby helping to reduce unemployment.
Mohammed urged stakeholders to be part of the ongoing economic revolution by supporting the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan and the private sector organization such as SYSAT and Konica Minolta are making to promote technological advancement in the country.
According to him, the Nigerian government is dedicated to creating a business friendly climate that is attractive to international investors.
He invited investors to consider and take up the opportunities now available in the sector. Mohammed stressed that this is an opportunity to position the company alongside major stakeholders and international investors.
