118 confirmed dead from Jos blast today, there may be more - NEMA

According to a report by AFP, the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA told them that 118 people have been confirmed dead from today's bomb blast in Jos, with several others still under the debris
"The exact figure of the dead bodies recovered as of now is 118 and more bodies may be in the debris of buildings which collapsed due to the intensity of the blasts.” Mohammed Abdulsalam told AFP. He also revealed that 56 people were injured in the twin blasts.
Plateau state Police commissioner Chris Olakpe had earlier told reporters that only 46 people were killed and 45 others were injured. He later said "We are saying 46. That’s the number we have in the morgues. But we are not ruling out more bodies.”

Well, eye-witnesses insists there are way more bodies. At least 200. Many have not been recovered.

Fashola Condemns Christian Successor In 2015

Following the recent call made by the Lagos State Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, for a Christian successor to Governor, Babatunde Fashola, in 2015, the latter on Monday, condemned the demand, and questioned if the christian agitators really believed in God?, noting that it is only God that can insist.

*Governor, Babatunde Fashola

The governor made the remark while commissioning an inter-faith conference, Tagged: "Peace, Religious Harmony and Good Governance: Issues and Challenges".

Fashola posited that the current insecurity issues bedeviling the country could be greatly reduced if everyone accepted religious harmony.

"People have said that they want one particular governor and I have ask myself two questions – the people who said that they want one particular governor or said that there must be this particular governor, are they still conscious that it is an election where a choice has to be made? If there are two democrats, they should expect that citizens must have a say in who is sworn-in as the governor of their state" Fashola said.

"Secondly; I wonder when I heard those things. You can insist, but can you insist that you will be alive in the next one hour. I know that things can rub off badly, you may be on the wrong side of the government policy, but we must trust ourselves.

"We have integrated more than 50 years ago rather than toying with what we are doing at the moment. The danger is too much, this cloth will not tear in one straight line; it will tear in shreds if we pull it too far and let us restrain the pull on the cloth. It is no longer a new cloth; it is a well worn cloth and when a well worn cloth tears, it doesn't repair well" he added.

Fashola who stressed that religion should not be the bedrock for choosing his successor, said: "Good governance means different things to us. It may mean that there are more religion institutions of one faith than the other in the state; that maybe good governance for some people. And for majority, good governance is just food, the ability to get a job and provision of social amenities. For those people, the faith of the governor is never their problem".

10 Highest Paid Video Vixens In Nigeria

Vixens are supposed to be female foxes – bad-tempered female foxes. But this collection of girls who make a living from dancing in musical videos are anything but female foxes.
They are beautiful, sexy, and probably endowed with enough skills to provide the audience with entertainment.
As often as they are seen, and as raunchy and passionate as they appear, they do not rank in the same category as the music stars for whom they dance, at least, not by their bank account balances.
Showtime investigations show that an average video vixen or music video model earns a paltry 20-50 thousand naira. Those that are on the upper scale of the trade might come off with about N100,000, after a scrappy haggling.
Still, there are those that rate higher, whose fees even run into millions. But those ones are not professional video vixens. They are established stars who have made names from other areas of entertainment. They are called guest stars, not video vixens as many think. Some of these big stars are:
*Cynthia Cinci Ezekiels:
She has done musical videos with virtually all the top artistes, both locally and internationally. She has worked with Brandy, Mario, Chris Brown, Mary J Blige, Fat Joe, Tuface Idibia, D’banj, P-square, J. Martins, Iyanya, Timaya, Terry G ,VIP of Ghana, Omawumi, May D, Samklef, Burna Boy, Olamide, and so many others. She was the luscious face in Tuface Idibia’s ‘Iheneme’. She rates between N50,000 and N100,000.
*Mimi Ubini
This is a top rated video vixen who has
done everything from modelling to acting. She now owns her blog, ‘Mimi Ubini Blog,’ fast becoming a reference point in entertainment blogging. Beautiful, with a forget-me-not eyes, she featured in Brymo’s ‘Ara’ and ‘Playboy’ by Playboy. She rates between N50,000 and N100,000.
*Tosin Pedro
She is sassy and classy. She is a well-known video vixen locally and internationally. One will remember her enchanting presence in ‘Feel Alright’, a video by Ice Prince featuring Davido. She rates between N50,000 and N100,000.
*Beverly Osu
This Big Brother Africa Housemate girl has been a video vixen long before she tried her hand in the Big Brother Africa. Liberated and free-spirited, we have all seen what Beverly can do. She was the vixen in Ice Prince’s ‘Oleku’. She rates just a little higher, between N50,000 and N120,000.
*Carphee Azeez
Carphee has a beauty that oozes sexiness
that could get a priest in a twist. Lively and luxuriantly effervescent, Carphee dazzled in Durella’s ‘Club Rock’. She rates between N50,000 and N80,000.

*Lovette Shade Awode
Lovette is beautiful, chic and sophisticated. One of her prominent videos include Wande Coal’s ‘Bumber to Bumber’, and Duncan Mighty’s ‘Obianuju and Adanma’ video. She rates between N50,000 and N80,000.

British plane sent to search for missing school girls breaks down

A British surveillance jet which was on its way to Nigeria to help in the search for missing Chibok girls reportedly broke down in Senegal due to unspecified technical problems.

UK Ministry of Defense released a statement explaining this...
"A technical fault which has delayed the Sentinel aircraft on its way to Ghana is being investigated and will be solved as soon as possible. In the meantime the UK military team continues its work on the ground while other surveillance aircraft continue the search for the missing schoolgirls," .
British Prime Minister, David Cameron, announced that Britain would offer Nigeria a surveillance jet to help in the search of the missing girls

Jim Iyke slammed by Journalist he allegedly accused of causing his breakup with Nadia Buari

J

Emma Agu ,a New York based musician and  owner of  nigerianfm.com  is slamming Jim Iyke for accusing him of breaking his relationship with Nadia Buari. According to him,Jim Iyke went to see his ex,Keturah behind Nadia's back and when she found out,she called off their relationship.Jim Iyke then called him, threatening him for telling Nadia where he was ..He leaked their exchanged mails...Serious and long drama but worth the read...
"The most sickest creep and a criminal  that walk the face of the earth (Jim Iyke) called me some minutes ago and called me all kinds of names.  He is accusing me of destroying his relationship with Nadia Bauri.
This overrated son of a bitch with his amateurish acting skills thinks his name can bring any good to a writer or a blogger. The man with a tainted name, a rogue  who has burnt every bridge he stepped on is trying to hold me responsible for what ever misfortune that has fallen him in the last 72 hours.

So this montebank sneaked into New York around 5am 3 days ago and did everything to keep it a top secret  until the bubble bust right in front of him. When I got the hint that James was in Keturah's house, I thought Keturah was lying . The girl said James came claiming that  his  relationship with Nadia Bauri was over. She also said james (Jim) came  to pick  her up for  Nigeria. I told her this guy might be lying.
As a brother and one this crook calls  'a confidante,' I sent him an email  which he never replied. He wanted to make sure Keturah never told me about his arrival to the extent he threw me under the bus. He lied against me and told Keturah stuff that got both of us into a heated argument. So I smelt a rat and decided  to find out from Ghana who is telling the truth.
When I got in touch with Nadia's manager, he maintained that Nadia was aware Jim went to Miami and insisted that he (Jim) was no way near Keturah's house.
Nadia's manager subsequently called him, he lied that he was in Miami. I was on the phone with Keturah Hamilton when Nana( Nadia's manager) sent me a text message saying Jim was in Miami.
I never believed Keturah that Jim was  in her house until she showed me a proof. It became very apparent that Jim iyke lied to both  Keturah Hamilton and Nadia Bauri. Nadia Bauri decided to pull the plug off their ever restless relationship.
Some hours ago, Jim called to insult me. Saying maybe I want to be famous. This writer started enjoying limelight, stardom and fame while Jim was maybe in Secondary School. He said I was the only man on earth he respected till today.
I have him on tape and will play it to my world audience by 8AM New York time, which should be 1PM Nigerian Time. I need everyone out there to  listen and  find out why Jim Iyke should be taken off the streets. The guy can never change. That deliverance by TB Joshua never worked. It was a fluke.
This guy is bipolar , a psycho who needs to see a doctor. I will get him arrested for making threats to my life.  There's a huge difference between living in America and Nigeria. I will teach him how to live in America.
For  everyone's information, Jim Iyke is babysitting Keturah Hamilton's dog while she is in LA with her lover.
I have been expecting Keturah to give me the number with which Jim called since he blocked his number when he called.  I will track him down right away.
This guy is a monumental disappointment, fraudster, liar and a cheat. Why is he so mad? The reason is simple. He is looking for a scapegoat. Jim should hold himself responsible for whatever happened to his relationship with Nadia Buari. On the other hand, Keturah Hamilton is no more available. The girl has moved on.

Keep entertaining truly intelligent people. We will wait your world news at 8.

There's nothing you can say or put out that hasn't been done before. You re mad I refused to grant you interviews or suck up to your many gimmicks to kiss ass.

I can read selfish men from miles away. You've told me many things about Keturah, Nadia and countless people in my life unsolicited. You're sly and two faced and I didn't buy into your story of brotherhood long before now.

God made and put me here not man.

Try all you can you will end up where the other desperate creatures did; beneath me.

TO JIM

You made who relevant? I have done interviews with Omotola, Awilo, Ministers, senators, men and women with proven records. You local boy is telling me you are making me relevant?  Last week alone, I interviewed, Ibrahim Commassie, RTD Inspector General of Police , I also did interview with Prof Femi Mimiko, Vice Chancellor, AAU and also a member of the National Confab. Same goes with Dr. Rabi Ibrahim, Bilksu Majoro, lawyer and a well known activist, Aminu Mahmuid, General Mansur Dan Ali, to name but a few. Tomorrow, I will be interviewing Jerry Gana and Mr. Falana.  These are men and women with proven records dear James. Over half a million Nigerians living overseas tune in to listen to great interviews with great people. Your interview with me brought me no audience, no rating, no feedback. It  was zero. Your name makes my listeners to turn off their appliances. Who wants to listen to a thief and a criminal, I was trying aimlessly to rebrand his image?

For the records, Keturah Hamilton begged me to accept you.  Keturah Hamilton would tell you, I never liked you from the start. I heard you are a thief and she told me not to judge you based on what people  say. I don't need anyone to convince me now that you Jim Iyke, is a thief, a rouge and a criminal. You live off the sweat and hardwork of women. You have wrecked so many lives. Cursed from every angle of this world, you have been on the run since you duped a married woman you slept with who took your late mum to India and London. You came from a family of ingrates therefore, you have no  mind, no heart no feeling for anyone regardless. It was no surprise how the women you swindled gave an interview shortly after your mum's demise, saying she never raised you well.

Your name is tainted, news about you drives away people. Ask Keturah, how people hate and loathe you.  You are a bad news.  She will tell you how many times, she had wrangling with folks who were tired of hearing or reading your name. A particular man wrote openly on my fan page , saying-Jim Iyke is bad news-Jim Iyke has squandered his opportunity.

I know folks out here who wouldn't watch any movie you appear in for a million dollars. The only people telling you about me are rogues like you who have the same evil mindset like you.  Those folks who are equally untalented like you, would resort by any means to use others. A couple of them here, even your friend based in Dallas swindled me once. Birds of the same feather.
Did you not tell me you were relocating to the US to live forever with Keturah Hamilton. Did you not say in my interview with you she was the best thing that happened to your life? The tape is still there maggot!   You left her as soon as you finish making all your fake promises. What about the money she gave you when you opened a so called store in ABUJA. WHAt about the money she gave you when you lied to her you wanted to buy a house?  You left her after looting her.

After wrecking havoc to this woman's life, leaving her for Nadia, you were not even contented with Nadia Buari that no days passes without you calling Keturah and complained against Nadia Bauri. You had a game plan that backfired, now you want to hold me responsible for your apparent downfall that started from the day you were born.

See all your mates in Nigeria and look at your life. Dude, you will run from pillar to post until your dying day. Ask T B Joshua the man who cast a spell on you about me. You were in Gabon when I started making waves at the age of 12. I have performed before 3 heads of States and also headlines President Barak Obama's inaugural ball she he was elected.  I wanted to grant you a pass till your bury your dead, now, with your latest hit on me, I will spare no rods , no words to tell the world who you truly are. I am not responsible for your break up with Nadia Bauri. You were caught in the web of lies. Deal with it.

I will not waste my time to write you again. I am a very busy man. I don't even have time to crosscheck all the stuff I have been sending to you.  I will issue a press release shortly. Deal with it loser. Keturah Hamilton does not want you. Nadia Bauri has left you. Deal with it!

If you were contented with your life and family why are you all up in other people's lives to create relevance for your far from desirous one. What you have is not even a proper platform. Its unfortunate you re not worth the trouble. I've had reason to travel to many cities of he world for the project I'm currently working on.

Nigeria’s multibillion naira drones obsolete – ISRAELI EXPERTS

Nigeria’s multibillion naira drones obsolete – ISRAELI EXPERTS

By CALEB AYANSINA
…as Jonathan orders more troops to N’East
The surveillance drones which Nigeria bought from Israel years ago that might have been used to hunt for the more than 200 girls held by Islamist rebels, have been left grounded due to poor maintenance, two official sources and the aircraft’s manufacturer said.
“To the best of our knowledge, these systems are not operational,” Tsur Dvir, Marketing Officer for Aeronautics Defense Systems, a firm based south of Tel Aviv that supplied Nigeria with Aerostar unmanned aerial vehicles, said yesterday.
UNVEILING OF 'GULMA' NIGERIA'S FIRST INDIGENOUS UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLE IN KADUNA
UNVEILING OF ‘GULMA’ NIGERIA’S FIRST INDIGENOUS UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLE IN KADUNA
A Nigerian government source and a former military attaché to Nigeria confirmed the information, although they said details were sketchy owing to the secretive nature of Israeli-Nigerian military cooperation.
Failure to maintain equipment is seen as one reason why Nigeria’s military has been unable to quell the militants.
Meanwhile, the Federal Government has formally asked the United Nations Security Council al Qaeda sanctions committee to blacklist the Islamist sect, Boko Haram, after the kidnap of hundreds of schoolgirls, UN diplomats said yesterday.
Israel last week sent intelligence and hostage negotiation officers to Nigeria to work alongside U.S., British and French experts helping the Nigerian authorities in the search, an Israeli official said yesterday.
“These are not operational troops, they are there to advise,” the Israeli official said, speaking on condition of anonymity
Dvir, speaking on the sidelines of a conference organised by Israel Defense magazine, told newsmen that since the drones were purchased several years ago, Nigerian clients had not commissioned Aeronautics to carry out any routine maintenance.
Dvir said: “We did receive an inquiry from them about spare parts, but it never turned into a deal. I wish it had.”
He argued that with their extensive flying range and thermal cameras capable of picking up body heat at night, the Aerostars could have helped scour northern Nigeria for the missing girls.
“They (drones) are probably parked in a yard somewhere.”
Obsolete equipment
Dvir did not say how many Aerostars were bought by Nigeria. Nigeria’s defense spokesman could not immediately be reached for comment.
The former attaché said the deal was struck in 2006, with a view to deploying the drones in the oil producing Niger Delta, where militants were attacking crude pipelines and kidnapping oil workers before the amnesty programme. They never flew.
Last December, Nigeria also unveiled a locally-made drone at an Air Force base in Kaduna, although it has not flown since.
A government adviser said the Israeli drones were among many procurements that quickly went obsolete owing to lack of maintenance.
Neither source nor the company knew how many had been bought, but an aerospace industry source said they each would have been worth between $15 million and $17 million.
The U.S. military is already flying manned and unmanned surveillance aircraft over Nigeria to look for the girls.
Nigeria‘s request
If there is no objection by the 15-member council committee, which operates by consensus, Boko Haram will be sanctioned at 3 p.m. tomorrow, the council diplomats said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Nigeria Army

“It is difficult to object to such a request by the concerned country,” said one of the council diplomats.
Until recently, Nigeria has been reluctant to seek international assistance in combatingBoko Haram. The document submitted by Nigeria to support its blacklisting request references a bomb attack on the United Nations’ Nigeria headquarters on Augus 26, 2011, that killed 24 people, diplomats said.
It also describes a “campaign of violence against Nigerian schools and students” by the group and references other attacks on schools last year, according to diplomats.
PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, ordered the deployment of additional troops to the North-East region to strengthen the military force in the fight against insurgency in the region.
The Coordinator of the National Information Centre, Mr. Mike Omeri, who disclosed this in Abuja, while briefing newsmen on the security challenges in some parts of the country, also confirmed bomb explosion that rocked Terminus Market, yesterday afternoon, in Jos, Plateau State capital.
Omeri said: “President Goodluck Jonathan has ordered the deployment of additional troops to reinforce the ongoing military operations in the North-East part of the country.
“This action comes in the wake of the regional alliance to checkmate the activities of Boko Haramin the region and also strengthen the efforts to rescue the missing girls.”
Speaking further on international alliance, Omeri said that structures had been put in place to coordinate the activities of the aligned countries.
“Meanwhile, the structures for the coordination of the activities of the input of aligned countries’ forces in the ongoing search and rescue operation has been setup and awaiting take off any moment from now,” he added.

OAU Students Barricade Major Roads To Protest Increase In School Fees (PHOTO)

Students of the Obafemi Awolowo University (O.A.U) in Ile-Ife, Osun yesterday took to the streets to air their grievances over an increase in their school fees.
The aggrieved students blocked a major road in the state which leads to Abuja, Ekiti, Ondo and Ibadan thereby causing a traffic gridlock.
The students said the fee increase was an attempt to take educatio away from the poor and make it an exclusive preserve of the rich.
The Nation reports:
The management of O.A.U., at its last Senate meeting, increased the fee of new students in the Faculty of Humanities/Social Sciences by 322 per cent; Clinical Sciences and Pharmacy by 267 per cent, and Sciences by 253 per cent.
With the increment, new students will pay between N92,400 and N104,000, excluding N20,000 acceptance fee, as against the previous N37,150 and N44,150.
President of the Students’ Union, Ibikunle Isaac who led the protesters, said they have negotiated with the management to reduce the fee to no avail.
He said: “Consultations have failed and the whole Nigeria must hear us as they did about three years ago. We want peace but we are not scared of crisis and we will not allow the legacy of our founding fathers to die.”
Isaac said the increase was not justifiable because the school generates fund from various sources.

AT&T to Buy DirecTV for $48.5 Billion in Move to Expand Clout

AT&T to Buy DirecTV for $48.5 Billion in Move to Expand Clout

DirecTV satellite dishes. The company’s acquisition may change little for consumers.Jonathan Alcorn/ReutersDirecTV satellite dishes. The company’s acquisition may change little for consumers.
Updated, 10:06 p.m. |
AT&T agreed on Sunday to buy the satellite television operator DirecTV for $48.5 billion, trying to tilt the balance of power with media companies as the market for broadband Internet and video shifts.
With the acquisition, AT&T becomes the latest telecommunications giant seeking to establish an even greater reach.
Comcast agreed in February to buy Time Warner Cable for $45 billion, a bid to become the country’s dominant provider of cable TV and high-speed Internet access. And Sprint, which is controlled by the Japanese telecom company SoftBank, has made no secret of its desire to merge withT-Mobile USA, creating a serious rival to Verizon and AT&T.
“The media chessboard is moving more this year than it has in the past decade,” said Richard Greenfield, a media analyst with the brokerage firm BTIG. “You’re seeing major shifts. Everyone is jockeying for position.”
The newest round of consolidation may weigh heavily on the minds of government regulators, who have expressed growing concern that the nation’s television and Internet services are increasingly controlled by just a few corporate behemoths.
For consumers, the acquisition may change little, at least at first, since AT&T and DirecTV share little overlap. AT&T said on Sunday that it planned to bundle its new acquisition’s services with existing offerings like broadband Internet and cellphone service.
To some analysts, AT&T’s latest acquisition seems questionable. The pay television business is considered a mature market whose subscriber growth has slowed sharply in recent years.
Still, the company has been trying to compensate for slowing growth in its own core businesses, including by moving into home security offerings and mobile data for cars.
Randall L. Stephenson, AT&T’s chief executive, said in an interview on Sunday that he had discussed the possibility of buying DirecTV with his counterpart at the satellite TV provider, Mike White, for some time.
By acquiring the country’s biggest satellite television operator, AT&T would gain more clout in negotiating with media companies as it increasingly focuses on video offerings. Through the deal, AT&T would become the country’s second-biggest pay TV provider, behind only Comcast. AT&T has about 5.7 million TV customers through its U-verse service, while the satellite TV operator has about 20.3 million customers in the United States.
The acquisition would also bring to AT&T DirecTV’s existing content at a time when AT&T has made video services a priority. DirecTV’s offerings include the National Football League’s “Sunday Ticket,” and it owns minority stakes in the Game Show Network and MLB Network.
It would also help get AT&T into new markets like video and data services inside airplanes.
“If you think about what we’re trying to accomplish, we’re trying to get way down the road to get content across multiple devices,” Mr. Stephenson said. “The more we peeled the onion back, frankly the better we felt about this.”
DirecTV would also bolster AT&T’s financial resources as it continues to invest in wireless-broadband capabilities, an effort that is expected to include bidding at least $9 billion for wireless network spectrum in a forthcoming government auction. The satellite TV company generated about $2.6 billion in free cash flow last year. Buying DirecTV would also expand AT&T’s presence in Latin America, where the satellite company already has more than 18 million customers and expects to grow substantially as more households subscribe to pay TV services.
Under the agreement’s terms, AT&T would pay $95 a share in stock and cash — roughly 10 percent higher than DirecTV’s closing stock price on Friday and about 30 percent higher than where its shares were trading before word of a potential transaction began to emerge.
Including the assumption of DirecTV’s debt, the deal is worth about $67.1 billion. Existing DirecTV shareholders would own 15 to 16 percent of the combined company after closing, which is expected in a year’s time.
The deal is the biggest in years for AT&T, which has long looked to acquisitions for growth. It is the largest transaction the company has announced since its aborted $39 billion offer for T-Mobile three years ago, a takeover fiercely opposed by antitrust regulators because it would have cut down on the number of wireless phone service providers.
This time, some analysts believe the company will face less heat from the federal government. By their reckoning, regulators are likely to look favorably upon a deal that creates a bulwark against a strengthened Comcast.
“They want wireless to compete with wires,” Mr. Greenfield, the media analyst, said. “The only way to complete that is to allow these deals to occur.”
AT&T has also learned from the botched deal. It will not have to pay DirecTV a breakup fee if the deal does not go through. It had to pay T-Mobile $6 billion.
Mr. Stephenson, the AT&T chief, argued that the deal should be approved since it would not meaningfully reduce competition in the pay TV industry.
“We became very comfortable that this is a deal that should pass regulatory muster,” he said. Referring to Comcast’s bid for Time Warner Cable, he added, “Our deal is a very different deal.”
At the same time, by moving forward with its DirecTV deal now, AT&T will probably complicate regulatory approvals for the cable television merger, according to several investment bankers.
But it is unclear whether investors and others will show enthusiasm for the DirecTV takeover, questioning the strategic fit.
“When I first heard the news, I was scratching my head,” said Jim Nail, an analyst with Forrester Research. “Satellite is kind of a doomed technology. I don’t see it being a long-term proposition.”
AT&T intends to pay for the deal with cash on hand, debt and the sale of some assets. To help ease regulatory concerns in Latin America, the company plans to sell its roughly 8 percent stake inAmérica Móvil, the telecommunications giant controlled by the billionaire Carlos Slim Helú.
The pace of consolidation, meanwhile, may prompt Sprint and SoftBank to proceed with a bid for T-Mobile, a deal that has already faced vocal opposition from several officials at the Federal Communications Commission. In that view, a merger would shrink an already consolidated industry to an unacceptable three major players.
But Sprint and SoftBank have argued that such a deal would create more competition in the fast-growing wireless space, creating a more formidable opponent to Verizon and AT&T.
AT&T’s move also raises questions for the country’s other major satellite television provider, Dish Network. That company’s chief executive, Charles W. Ergen, has made noises about striking acquisitions to become a true broadband service provider, while also hinting that he may be willing to sell.
But AT&T was concerned that buying Dish would invite more regulatory scrutiny because of both its broadband ambitions and its existing trove of wireless spectrum, according to a person briefed on the matter.
